Saturday Afternoon Teas

Afternoon teas are a centuries old tradition

Tea has been enjoyed around the world since the development of tea drinking by the Chinese over three thousand years ago.  It wasn’t until the 1600s that drinking tea became popular in England, and the 1800s when the concept of Afternoon Tea was introduced by the seventh Duchess of Bedford because she routinely became peckish in the late afternoons.  Over time, she shared her newly invented habit with friends, and soon all of England was enjoying a snack with their tea in the afternoon.

A traditional Afternoon Tea consists of a selection of small sandwiches and sweet pastries, as well as scones with clotted cream and jam. A Cream Tea consists of just scones, clotted cream and jam.  Our Afternoon Tea events offer you the choice of either an Afternoon Tea or a Cream Tea.  Our sweets, savories and scones are all prepared by Becky’s Best Baked Goods of Geneva.

Our Afternoon Teas are $40.00 per person; our Cream Tea is $20.00 per person.  Our next Tea will be held on Saturday,  February 14, 2026, from 12:30pm to 2:00pm.
